A woman in the United States suffered severe burns on her whole body in an explosion while using hand sanitizer.

Kate Wise, who lives in Round Rock, Texas, suffered third-degree burns on her face and body as she was engulfed in flames by an explosion of a hand sanitizer container, CBS reported yesterday (4th) in local time.

Wise was disfigured after applying hand sanitizer at home to prevent Corona 19 on the 30th of last month.

After putting the three children to sleep, Wise lit a candle with her hand soaked in the detergent, and at that moment the hand caught fire.

Then a small ember exploded as it touched the detergent container, and Wise suffered a whole body burn.

"The explosion of hand sanitizer spread the flames all over my face, and in five seconds my body was engulfed in flames," he said.

Round Rock Fire Department is investigating the exact cause of the hand sanitizer explosion.

It is not known whether Wise used a non-genuine bad cleaner.

A fire department official told People magazine that "hand sanitizers are basically flammable substances," and "because they contain at least 62% alcohol, be careful when handling hand sanitizers."

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said, "The likelihood of a fire associated with alcohol-containing hand sanitizers is very low, but it is important to keep your hand sanitizers safe."
