There are lives that deserve a movie.
Or, in this case, a television series.
Marisol Nichols,
a
46-year-old
American actress
who currently stars in the youth series
Riverdale
, has
spent
six years combining her work in Hollywood with
fighting child sex trafficking.
More specifically, the interpreter of police series such as
24
,
Criminal Minds
or
Navy: Criminal Investigation
, helps the FBI, local police officers and the NGO Operation Underground Railroad to
pursue and capture pedophiles.
using his acting skills.
A fascinating story that Sony Pictures Television will bring to the small screen with Nichols herself as producer and, most likely, protagonist, as published by Deadline
Last April Nichols made
his double life
public
in an interview with the American edition of
Marie Claire
magazine,
which in fact accompanied the actress during one of her operations.
As he explained, it all started in 2012, when he spent two and a half years without landing a role.
After playing several police officers, the actress felt the need to do something.
And he dedicated this
break to researching human trafficking
with the idea of using his contacts and his influence to educate and, really, act.

Nichols knew he was not a star, but he was also clear that he
could do more than host parties
where only canapes were served.
So in 2014 he created the non-profit organization Foundation for a Slavery Free World, whose goal is to eradicate all forms of modern slavery in the world, "whether in the form of
sexual slavery
of adults or children, slave labor or debt bondage ", they point out on their website.
While looking for a speaker to deliver a conference, Nichols came into contact with
a former special agent from the department
of homeland security who was privately investigating crimes against minors online and child sex tourism.
After accompanying him in
an operation carried out in Haiti,
the actress began to participate in these actions.
To catch these sexual predators,
Nichols basically plays two roles:
that of a mother who prostitutes her children or that of a young prostitute, either in person, in phone conversations or through chats.
The actress has participated in half a dozen operations around the world,
always as a volunteer and a civilian,
assisting the security forces that want to collaborate with these investigators.

At just 11 years old, Nichols was raped by a group of boys
older than her.
The nightmare she lived through and the trauma pushed her to
use drugs.
And when at 16 she discovered that her father was not her biological father, but rather her adoptive father, her sense of emptiness increased even more.
At the College of DuPage public university, Nichols began acting, and thanks to the encouragement he received from his professors, he decided to
pursue acting.
In 1997 he participated in his first movie,
Las Vegas Vacation.
And in her own words,
Scientology saved her life
and helped her overcome her addictions.
Returning to his work chasing pedophiles, Nichols says he will
continue to do
so both in the United States and abroad, but acknowledges that he could not dedicate himself to it full time.
"I would lose my faith in Humanity," he acknowledged.
