Journalist Ahmed Schubert said that the Africa Cup of Nations disappeared from the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), without anyone knowing its destination and who is currently holding it.

Schubert spoke about the incident during his TV program on Thursday, and said that the quinquennial committee that is running temporarily the Egyptian Football Association was preparing to establish a special museum to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the federation.

He pointed out that the committee was surprised by the disappearance of the African Cup, which Egypt had kept for life, after winning 3 consecutive tournaments in 2006, 2008 and 2010.

The former goalkeeper of the Al-Ahly club and the Egyptian national team indicated that the committee opened an investigation into the case, and received information that the cup was with the former captain of the team, Ahmed Hassan, but the concerned denied that.

There has been no official comment from the Federation on the issue yet.

The Pharaohs national team holds the record for winning the African Nations Cup with 7 titles, the last of which was in 2010.
