One week before the 54-year-old Blekinge entrepreneur was to appear at the Tygelsjö institution, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service received a request for a postponement.

There, the entrepreneur says that he wants his sentence postponed, because he has been given a temporary job in a construction company until January 2021.

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service granted a postponement for about three more months, until the beginning of October.

- It is not easy to be granted a deferral by us.

We apply a restrictive approach because the legislation is written that way.

It is in exceptional cases that you get a deferral, but we must also consider that these people will come out one day and continue to live their lives and hopefully do it in a good way, so sometimes there is reason to grant a deferral for various reasons, says Tatjana Johansen, group manager at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's placement section.

But what is it then for a company that employs the 54-year-old man?

"Useless employment certificate"

The company is owned by a close relative of the man - a relative who lives in the same house as the entrepreneur and who in close proximity to the Blekinge entrepreneur was banned from doing business stepped into about twenty suspected scam companies with connections to the 54-year-old.

The construction company is also written on the same mailbox in northwestern Skåne that the 54-year-old entrepreneur uses - and lacks an F-tax certificate.

In addition, the company has received a payment remark from a DIY store, regarding an invoice of SEK 26,000 that has not been paid.

- I would not value this employment certificate for even the paper it is written on.

The Prison and Probation Service should have been able to see who submitted the document, in this case a close relative.

Since what type of crime this man is convicted of, it is to use exactly this type of company.

It should have been possible to value this document to zero and nothing, says Anders Björkenheim, expert in fraud prevention.

"Possible that we missed"

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service does not want to comment on the individual case, with regard to confidentiality towards clients.

- We primarily check all companies where someone says that they have been hired with the tool Infotorg.

We look at the basic information, their financial commitments, if the company is active and has some employees registered.

And we can also check against the Tax Agency that there are no lawsuits against the company there.

We usually do that in any case, says Tatjana Johansen, group manager at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's placement section.

In this case, the company does not have an F-tax slip, it is written at the same postal address as the convicted man, is this not something you should have reacted to?

- It is absolutely, and it is one of the things that we check in our initial stage when we receive such a deferral application.

But here you have missed it?

- It is very possible that we have done in that case, if that is what you claim.

"Not good for me"

The Blekinge entrepreneur states that he is renovating a residential building.

It is, according to him, one of the construction projects he was hired to work on, and is owned by the same relative who employed the 54-year-old.

- I have no comment on anything, you can apologize.

You never get enough or?

Have you employed yourself in this company?

- No why?

Is it one of your so-called scam companies?

- Bluff company?

I drive nothing.

Do you do research all the time or?

It's not so good for me if you do that.
