The Moscow authorities have taken effective measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus infection COVID-19.

This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the capital's mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

According to the head of state, Moscow was the first in the country to face large-scale problems due to the pandemic, since “all paths converge to the city, from here they begin”.

“It is clear that in such an environment it was difficult to avoid some kind of outbreak.

But nevertheless, the city authorities, having taken energetic, I would say, very energetic and effective steps to combat this infection, nevertheless came to the point that not only stabilized the situation, but also began to reduce the number of infected.

You were the first to introduce restrictions, but you were also the first to begin, in fact, to remove them, while simultaneously providing assistance to other regions of the Russian Federation, ”Putin said.

The head of state also expressed gratitude to Sobyanin and his team for their work.

“I would like to emphasize once again that, taking into account both the state and the dynamics of economic development, social sphere, urban finance management, the socio-economic situation in the capital is very favorable, I must admit it,” the president added.

In turn, Sergei Sobyanin pointed out that the restrictions imposed in Moscow were "tough enough", but necessary in order to "bring down the wave of the epidemic."

According to him, as soon as the opportunity arose, the opening of industries began one after another.

“In general, trade and services have already reached the pre-crisis level.

The industry has reached the pre-crisis level, and construction has also reached a level comparable to the pre-crisis level.

The commissioning of housing is a little less, but the investments themselves, the construction industry itself has already reached these stages, ”said the mayor.

According to him, the economic indicators of the capital are recovering faster than expected.

“But nevertheless, of course, we should not close our eyes to a huge number of problems in a number of enterprises, because, for example, trade has fully restored volumes, but there are different enterprises in trade.

There are those that sell remotely, small wholesale trade, there are front offices.

These are small retail stores, where, of course, there are still problems, they do not collect money in the annual turnover.

But I think that the main problems here will be resolved by the end of the year, ”Sobyanin added.

Earlier, the mayor in his blog said that Moscow went through the most difficult phase of the pandemic with fewer losses than many other cities in the world.

He stated that the capital was not preparing for a pandemic, but, nevertheless, the city was ready for it.

In addition, Sobyanin also told Putin that he had been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The mayor stressed that he practically did not feel any consequences.

“In order to give tone to my colleagues, to be sure myself that we have opened a window of opportunity in this situation, that we really have a good domestic vaccine in Russia, I made a decision, colleagues from the institute allowed me to do this, and I have passed, as they say, almost half of the entire big stage.

I feel fine, God forbid, that it was so in the future.

But most importantly for me, it gave me confidence that we are doing the right thing.

This is very important for all executors of this program, ”the Moscow Mayor said.

Recall that on August 11, Vladimir Putin announced the registration in Russia of the world's first vaccine against COVID-19, developed by the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology (NITsEM) named after honorary academician N.F.

Gamalei.

The drug was named "Sputnik V".

In the coming days, post-registration tests will begin, including with the participation of volunteers over 60 years old.
