The workshop entitled "Predicting the features of the economy after Covid-19", presented by the Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, Jumah Muhammad Al-Kait, dealt with the current Emirati economic scene and the most important measures taken by the state to limit the repercussions of the emerging Corona virus (Covid-19) And the long-term future recovery plan adopted by the government as part of the "UAE government meeting ... Preparing for the post-Covid-19 phase."

The workshop dealt with ways to develop joint mechanisms and innovative work tools to build capacity, exchange experiences, and discuss prospects for bilateral partnerships in the fields of trade and investment.

In the "Building the Foundations of Competitive Tourism" workshop, the Director of the Tourism Department at the Ministry of Economy, Abdullah Saleh Al Hammadi, reviewed the most prominent repercussions of the new Corona virus on the global tourism sector, which is one of the most important sectors that support the economy and the work of governments worldwide, as it represents 10.3% of Global GDP, and it provides about 330 million jobs around the world.

The session discussed developments in the global tourism sector, which witnessed steady growth after the global economic crisis during the period from 2009 to 2019, and the repercussions of the "Covid-19" pandemic, which cast a shadow over this sector and led to a significant decrease in the number of tourists.

The session urged the countries of the world to prepare new tourism strategic plans that contribute to the recovery of the sector and enhance its competitiveness, in line with the travel standards imposed by the pandemic, and to be comprehensive for the basic pillars, including rebuilding the confidence of tourists and the contribution of private sector institutions in the advancement of the sector, and monitoring the most prominent future growth opportunities.

In the same context, the "Foreign Direct Investment" workshop presented by Hind Al-Youha, Director of the Investment Department at the Ministry of Economy, focused on the most important features of the investment environment in the UAE, and the advanced legislative infrastructure that enabled the country to top the Arab results of the results of the Global Foreign Direct Investment Report for the year 2019.
