China News Agency, Moscow, September 2 (Reporter Wang Xiujun) Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov stated on the 2nd that Russia will stop attempts to provoke Belarus.

On the same day, Lavrov held talks with Belarusian Foreign Minister Marki who was visiting Moscow.

Lavrov made the above statement at a press conference held by both parties after the meeting.

He said that Belarus needs a national dialogue and the leaders of Belarus are ready for this.

Those who attempt to unscrupulously provoke riots and provoke illegal incidents understand that if Belarus conducts a national dialogue, they will be marginalized, so they push everything to the extreme, provoke law enforcement officials, and make it impossible to resume normal life in various parts of Belarus.

We will resolutely prevent similar attempts.

Lavrov said that Russia’s concern about the situation in Belarus is because Belarus is a strategic ally of Russia.

Currently, many countries openly support the Belarusian opposition and are trying to pressure the legitimate government of Belarus. Russia condemns this.

Lavrov emphasized that Russia has the evidence, and Ukrainian extreme-right and nationalist groups have participated in inciting radical actions in Belarus.

In addition, about 200 extremists trained in Ukraine are active in Belarus.

Lavrov said that Russia believes that the current situation in Belarus is an internal affair of Belarus.

The Russian side hopes that the situation in Belarus can be normalized as soon as possible through dialogue.

Makeyi said on the same day that Russia’s clear stance played a role in checks and balances, limiting external forces trying to interfere in Belarus’s internal affairs, creating the possibility of turning the situation into calm, establishing a national dialogue and finding a way out of the current situation.

Belarus held presidential elections on August 9, and the current President Lukashenko won the election by high votes.

On the night of the election, many people in Belarus held rallies to protest the election process and results.

Protests in various parts of Belarus are still continuing.
