“You know our position, we believe that journalists should fulfill their functions and no one should interfere,” RIA Novosti quoted Peskov as saying.

He noted that journalists “must act in strict accordance with local laws, in this case with Belarusian laws, have the necessary accreditation, that in this case everything was done”.

“Therefore, we hope that journalists will be able to continue their activities in the very near future,” he added.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a meeting with Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, said that Moscow is concerned about the detention of Russian journalists in Belarus.

At the same time, Lavrov noted that in Minsk each time they promptly responded to requests from the Russian side and released journalists, including those who did not have accreditation.
