China News Service, Toronto, September 1. The Privy Council of Canada has commissioned a private institution to conduct an independent investigation into the alleged bullying atmosphere in the Office of the Secretary of the Governor General of the Governor General of Canada and submit a report.

Canadian media reported on September 1 that the complete content of the report will not be released publicly in the future.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation disclosed in late July that more than a dozen people who were still working in the public service or had worked in the Governor’s House alleged in an interview that since the inauguration of the Canadian Governor Julie Payette, she had been with her old friend and secretary Di. Lorenzo repeatedly abused and verbally bullied the staff of the Governor's Office.

Some staff members were scolded or left their jobs.

The report even described the existence of a "toxic" working atmosphere in the Government House.

The Privy Council of Canada stated in late July that it would conduct a thorough, independent and impartial investigation into the concerns raised by the past and current employees of the Governor’s Office.

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau also responded to this, saying that every Canadian has the right to a safe, secure, and free working environment.

The Privy Council announced this time that it has selected a consulting company called Quintet to conduct an investigation, and the scope of its investigation work has also been finalized.

The "quintet" company has been authorized to act independently and will invite past and current employees of the Governor's Office to share their views on a "voluntary and confidential" basis.

The relevant investigation report is expected to be submitted later this fall.

The Governor General of Canada once responded to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and said that it deeply regrets the relevant reports, because the reports are in "a sharp contrast" with the facts.

At the same time, the Government House stated that it firmly believes in the importance of health in the workplace and has taken many measures to promote it.

As a Commonwealth country, Canada’s head of state is the Queen of England, but the governor appointed by the Queen is acting on his behalf.

The Governor-General of Canada is nominated by the Prime Minister and appointed by the Queen. The term of office is generally 5 years.

Julie Payette took office as the Governor of Canada in October 2017.

She served as an astronaut from 1992 to 2013, and flew into space twice, and also served as the chief astronaut of the Canadian Space Agency.
