In April, corona infection was found in almost every third nursing home in the city of Stockholm, which in some homes meant a doubling of mortality.

The City Council for the Elderly now announces that none of the city's care and nursing homes or service houses have any established cases of covid-19.

According to Erik Slottner (KD), today they have good enough routines to keep the infection away.

- With the routines and working methods we now have and with all the work we put in during the spring and summer, I mean that the risk for this is relatively small.

We also see that the spread of infection has decreased in Sweden and not least in Stockholm, he says.

SVT revealed a sharp increase in deaths

In April, almost 800 deaths were reported to the Swedish Palliative Care Register from special housing in Stockholm County.

An increase of 190 percent compared to April 2019. SVT was able to reveal this at the beginning of June.

And despite the fact that Erik Slottner believes that the risk of a new spread of infection in the homes is small, he believes that the work against covid-19 in the city's elderly homes must continue.

- I think that anxiety should always be there, he says.
