With the putsch of August 18, the imprisonment of several generals including the Minister of Defense, General Dahirou Dembélé still detained in Kati, the chain of command has been disrupted.

But according to

the French force Barkhane

, the operations were not impacted.

It is not these soldiers with whom we are cooperating who participated in the coup d'état, which is why cooperation continues

", replied the French general staff.

A week ago, the new commander of the Barkhane force, General Marc Conruyt paid an official visit for the first time to Sévaré in central Mali, an area which is not yet within Barkhane's mandate. .

There he met Colonel-Major Félix Diallo, the commander of the theater of operations in central Mali, who also received two vice-presidents of the CNSP last week.

Beyond the regional capital, the two men went on the ground in Hombori or in Boulkessi, two localities plagued by recurrent attacks.

Almost all the leaders of the junta “

served in the region of Mopti

”, slips a local administrative source.

Since the coup, "

the army continues to work

", testifies a resident of Mopti, in particular towards Kona.
