It has been five years since the image of Alan Kurdi spread - and aid organizations are skeptical about how the situation of refugee children in Europe is handled.

- I think we should still be ashamed, says Pernilla Baralt, Secretary General of Unicef.

"The situation has deteriorated"

On the fifth anniversary, Save the Children publishes a report on unaccompanied children.

- The situation for unaccompanied minors has become significantly more difficult since 2015, both in terms of obtaining a residence permit but also in terms of their life situation in general. And we see this both in Sweden and the rest of Europe, she says.
