The trial against Daniel Nyqvist, 37, who was charged on Wednesday with the double murder in Linköping in 2004, will begin on September 15.

According to Karin Wålander, plaintiff's assistant to Anna-Lena Svenson's relatives, the family intends to attend the hearing.

- It has been 16 years so right now it is just a great relief.

They think it is nice that there is a perpetrator and they will attend the three days that this hearing will take place, says Karin Wålander to SVT's reporter on site.

"Some answers"

According to Karin Wålander, Anna-Lena Svenson's family has received an explanation about the motive.

- We have had a meeting with the prosecutor where motives have been reviewed and we have also had to take part in the preliminary investigation.

So it has been part of this process to prepare them for the negotiations, that they should get as much information as possible before we sit in the hall, says Karin Wålander to SVT.

- It has been 16 years so it is clear that they are difficult to get a complete picture that is complete.

But they have definitely received some answers.
