Dubai Residency re-activates the smart gates for departures at Dubai Airport

The General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai announced the restart of smart gates at Dubai International Airport, using the passport, as part of the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the state to ensure the highest levels of safety for all.

The Director General of the Department, Major General Mohammed Al-Marri, said that the number of smart gates distributed at Dubai airports reached 122.

He pointed out that the smart gates will be restarted in the departure hall only, in the second and third buildings, provided that the smart gates in the first building will be restarted when the building reopens, according to air traffic.

He stressed that the smart gates service has contributed to reducing queues and speeding completion of procedures, in terms of the traveler's getting used to the available service instead of direct contact with the passport officer.

Al-Marri said that the gates are a safe way for travelers in light of the conditions that the world is going through due to the "Covid-19" pandemic, which enhances travelers' confidence in the emirate.

He added that the increase in the number of travelers since the return of air traffic in Dubai Airports, heralds a new phase of tourism activity, and confirms the tourism infrastructure of Dubai and the continuous government support, especially since Dubai airports have been ranked the highest in comparison with international airports because of the services they provide that attract the latest Technological technologies and outstanding facilities, aiming to enhance the smart passenger experience.
