Pablo Iglesias has presented this Wednesday at the National Court a letter with which he wants to reinforce his request for the condition of victim to be returned in the

Dina case

.

The defense of the leader of Podemos directs a letter to the

Third Criminal Section

, in charge of reviewing the decisions of Judge

Manuel García Castellón

, instructor of the case that revolves around the phone stolen from Dina Bousselham, a former advisor to Iglesias.

Specifically, the document asks the Chamber to review the recent police report referring to the damage suffered by the memory card that contained the mobile.

Iglesias acknowledges that the report does not clarify how the first damage to the card occurred, which prevented access to its content.

But she highlights that it does explain the grosser damage that digital memory presented, which she maintains was the basis of the judge's decision to withdraw the condition of injured party.

"Obviously, given the current state of the card, it cannot be specified whether there was any previous damage, but it has been proven that the alleged external destruction was alien to the instructor's thesis, who considered it the basis and element for the withdrawal of the condition of injured party and part of the reasons for this appeal, "says the letter from

Raúl Maíllo

, Iglesias's new lawyer in the

Dina case

.

Iglesias and Bousselham appeared at the National Court as victims of the theft of the mobile, since some of the data it contained had appeared in the media.

The ordeal for them began when the judge detected that Bousselham herself had shared those data - compromising messages from Iglesias - with third parties.

And that when the leader of Podemos was sent the stolen card in good condition, he did not give it to Bousselham.

By contrast, she retained it for several months and, when she did return it, the memory was no longer accessible.

The instructor contemplated that Iglesias had damaged his memory to avoid new leaks.

He withdrew the condition of injured party and requested a report on the damage to the Scientific Police.

This report is the one that indicates that the data recovery company to which Bousselham sent the card ended up damaging the device even more.

That - which the company itself ratifies - prevents having more data on the first damage suffered, the one that has Iglesias as a suspect.

Iglesias' letter takes the opportunity to criticize before the Court the actions of the judge, whom he accuses of directing the investigation where it should not, instead of focusing on theft.

Specifically, he criticizes that commission to the Scientific Police, which he describes as "a new investigation unrelated to how Mr. Villarejo came to be in possession of a copy of the files of the phone that was stolen from

Doña Dina, or who allegedly gave her a copy of these, or how data from said phone appeared in the first version of the alleged PISA Report ".
