Russia passes the threshold of one million cases of "Covid-19"

On Tuesday, Russia crossed the threshold of one million new infections with the Coronavirus, a level recorded at the start of the new school year, which is characterized by the epidemic.

Official figures in this country, the most affected in terms of the number of injuries, after the United States, Brazil and India, counted 4,729 new injuries in the past 24 hours and 123 deaths, bringing the total to 1,000,048 injuries and 17,299 deaths.

The announcement comes at the start of the school year, which will start in Russia on the first of September, with 17 million students and more than 1.5 million of their teachers, while respecting the rules of social distancing and temperature measurement at the entrance to schools.

In Moscow, where more than 263,000 cases of coronavirus have been detected since the beginning of the epidemic, teachers are required to wear a muzzle and students are advised to wear it as well.

And the authorities in Moscow confirmed that all employees of the city schools have undergone infection checks, and a flexible schedule has been established to avoid students gathering during the recess or in the dining hall at the same time.

Russia has been accused of tampering with its figures to justify the low death rate of Covid-19, and the authorities attribute this to a policy of intensified examination (36.9 million tests so far), reorganization of hospital services from March to confront the epidemic and early home quarantine of the most vulnerable population.

However, Russia does not count in the official number of deaths from Covid-19 only those that are caused by the President Corona virus, after the autopsy, while other countries include almost all deaths who have tested positive.
