The drama occurred Monday evening around 11:30 p.m. in an avenue in the Neuhof district in Strasbourg.

An 18-year-old has died after a fall from a scooter allegedly caused by a 22-year-old man he was chasing.

The latter was taken into police custody, along with a person accompanying the victim.

According to two police sources, the victim allegedly pursued a 22-year-old man who was on foot.

The latter would then have kicked the scooter to free himself, causing his pursuer to fall.

"He did not have a helmet, he fell badly, his head hit the sidewalk," said a police source.

The young man was declared dead in hospital, according to the same police source.

"Nebulous circumstances"

“It's a dispute between several people, people were suing each other.

It is a context of brawl on the public highway, the circumstances are nebulous, ”added the police source, who did not know the nature of the dispute between the protagonists.

An investigation, entrusted to the departmental direction of public security of Bas-Rhin, was opened for "theft, threats and violence resulting in death without intention of giving it".

A crowd formed after the fact, but without incident.
