Fredrik Reinfeldt, former Prime Minister and party leader of the Moderates, recently released his new book "November 3, 2020 the election of fate: On a democracy in danger and a world order in disintegration".

In it, he describes the tense situation in the United States ahead of the election this autumn.

In the book, Reinfeldt also expresses great concern for the future of the United States.

He writes, among other things, that Donald Trump risks affecting the balance of power in the world and warns that the United States will become more corrupt.

"The dictator's shapes"

You claim that democracy is in danger if Donald Trump is re-elected for another four years?

- Donald Trump has many of the dictator's shapes, he demands blind obedience, he does not accept independent courts, says Fredrik Reinfeldt.

But Johan Ingerö does not want to say that democracy is in danger if Trump were to be re-elected.

He says it is problematic to sell the image that democracy would be in danger.

- If we say that American democracy is threatened, then we say that American freedom of the press, freedom of the press and the right to go and vote is threatened and that is not true, says Johan Ingerö who is responsible for policy at the Christian Democrats' party leadership group.

"Got an ally"

Fredrik Reinfeldt also writes in his book that he is concerned that the current world order is about to be dissolved.

- For 75 years we have trusted that this superpower stands up for the free world and free democracy in a world where there has been communism, religious fanatics, says Fredrik Reinfeldt and continues:

- Then the USA has been the guarantor who kept down and pushed back.

Now they have an ally who praises them when they go after their own people.

Do not see the risk of a weaker United States

Johan Ingerö does not think one will see a weaker United States in world politics.

- This week we got the first peace agreement in the Middle East in 26 years between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, not to a small extent due to American leadership.
