Hamas announced that an understanding had been reached to contain the Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip, after a round of dialogues and contacts with Qatari efforts, the most recent of which was the head of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, Ambassador Muhammad Al-Emadi.

Hamas indicated that a number of projects that serve the people of the Gaza Strip and contribute to alleviating them will be announced in light of the Corona wave, as well as the return of the situation to what it was before the escalation.

And Israeli media reported that Israel will reopen the Kerem Shalom and Erez crossings, in addition to restoring the maritime space in the Gaza Strip to its previous era, after the announcement of this understanding.

The private Israeli Channel (13) stated that "Tel Aviv and Hamas have reached an understanding that includes stopping the launching of balloons from the Gaza Strip and opening the crossings."

At the beginning of this August, there was a state of tension in the Gaza Strip on the ground and military, due to the start of the launch of incendiary balloons towards the settlements bordering the Strip.

The launchers of the incendiary balloons say that they are using them with the aim of forcing Israel to ease the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip since 2007, which has caused deteriorating living conditions for the population.

However, Tel Aviv responded to the balloons by launching almost daily raids on sites that the Israeli army says are affiliated with Hamas, and has also issued a number of decisions that have tightened its siege.

Those decisions were to completely close the sea to fishermen until further notice, to prevent the entry of all kinds of goods and goods into Gaza, except for food and medical, and to prevent the entry of building materials and fuel, which caused a severe electricity crisis, as the number of hours of power cuts exceeded 20 hours per day.
