August 31, 2020After the squeeze on TikTok and WeChat, the US could target other apps made in China. This was announced by Peter Navarro, one of President Donald Trump's closest advisers on trade issues. Chinese apps pose a threat to US citizens, Navarro told Fox Business channel.

"This is the political stance behind our actions against TikTok and WeChat and there will be more," Navarro said. "It is vital that this country does not use apps made in China," he added.

Meanwhile, broadcaster CNBC reported that TikTok would choose the buyer for its operations in the US, Australia and New Zealand and that the announcement could come by tomorrow. After President Trump's legislative initiatives, ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok, was in fact forced to sell its assets in the US in order not to risk being banned.

At the forefront of buyers are Microsoft in partnership with Walmart and Oracle.
