"From December 2020, all categories of citizens who are entitled to a discount on travel on suburban and long-distance trains will be able to buy and issue tickets remotely," the Cabinet of Ministers said.
The innovation concerns disabled people, participants of the Great Patriotic War, Chernobyl victims and heroes of Russia.
“They will no longer have to waste time traveling to the cashier to show their passport and proof of benefit,” the government said.
The government explained that the operators themselves will receive the necessary data in electronic form, while citizens will be able to issue tickets via the Internet.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers simplified the receipt of grants for the tourism industry.
