The Russian Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that the first large shipments of the Russian vaccine against the emerging corona virus, "Sputnik-V", will begin next September.

Murashko was quoted by the RIA Novosti agency as saying that production quantities will increase by the end of this fall.

"First and foremost, of course, vaccines will be shipped to medical workers and teachers, and this (vaccination - liberated) will be completely voluntary," Murashko said.

The head of the department added that factories are now conducting production operations. Scientists have also recruited more than 2.5,000 volunteers to conduct postmarketing vaccine trials.

In total, the creators of the drug plan employed 40,000 people in the study.

The Russian Ministry of Health previously registered the world's first Corona vaccine developed by specialists from the Gimalia Center with the support of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

The drug had all the clearances and was tested on volunteers who eventually developed an immune response and antibodies to the Coronavirus.

The head of the Russian Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, stated that the fund had received requests from more than 20 countries to purchase one billion doses of the local vaccine.

Russia has agreed to produce the vaccine in five countries, and current capabilities allow the production of up to 500 million doses per year.
