It was in mid-July last year that the then 18-year-old man drove a car from Kungsör to Eskilstuna, despite the fact that the man did not have a driving license and was under the influence of narcotics. At Kungsgatan in central Eskilstuna, a police patrol saw him and wanted to stop the car, but the man refused to stop and a wild car chase began.

Framed police car

According to the convicted man, he drove between 100 km / h - 200 km / h on different streets where the maximum allowed speed was 30 km / h or 50km / h. In his attempt to get away from the police, he drove at a red light, drove in the wrong direction in three roundabouts and drove on pedestrian and bicycle lanes. He is also said to have hit a police car during the hunt.

Transported friend

The man has confessed to the crime but says that he acted in distress because he drove his friend to Mälar Hospital when he thought that the friend had taken an overdose.

But the district court finds the man guilty and he is convicted of illegal driving, aggravated drunk driving, minor drug offenses and gross negligence in traffic. The penalty is probation.
