A Saudi royal order to terminate the service of a number of officials and refer them for investigation

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that a royal order was issued in the early hours of this morning, to refer an official to retirement and exempt a number of officials.

"SPA" clarified that the royal order included referring some officials to the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority in the Kingdom for investigation.

The following is the text of the royal decree.

Today, a royal decree was issued, which reads as follows:

With the help of God Almighty

We, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

After perusal of the Basic Law of Governance issued by Royal Decree No. (A / 90) dated 27/8/1412 AH.


And after reviewing the regions system issued by Royal Decree No. (A / 92) dated 27/8/1412 AH.


And after reviewing the system of ministers, deputy ministers, and employees of the excellent rank, issued by Royal Decree No. (M / 10) dated 3/18/1391 AH.


And after reviewing the officers' service system, issued by Royal Decree No. (M / 43) dated 8/28/1393 AH, and its amendments.


And after reviewing the two Royal Orders No. (A / 137) on 6/10/1439 AH, and No. (A / 267) on 9/26/1438 AH.


And based on what was referred by His Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense to the Supervision and Anti-Corruption Authority regarding the suspicious financial transactions that were monitored in the Ministry of Defense and the request to investigate them, and what was submitted by the Authority about the existence of financial corruption in the Ministry, and its connection with Lieutenant General / Fahd Bin Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince / Abdulaziz bin Fahd bin Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and a number of officers and civil servants and others.


We ordered the following:


First: Lieutenant General / Fahd bin Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Commander of the Joint Forces, shall end the service by referring him to retirement and referring him to investigation.


Second: Approval of what His Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense presented to us, to assign Lieutenant General Mutlaq bin Salem bin Mutlaq Al-Azima, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, to carry out the work of the Joint Forces Commander.


Third: His Royal Highness Prince / Abdulaziz bin Fahd bin Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Al-Jouf Region, is relieved of his post and referred for investigation.


Fourth: The referral of 1 - Yusuf bin Rakan bin Hindi Al-Otaibi, 2 - Muhammad bin Abdul Karim bin Muhammad Al-Hassan, 3 - Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muhammad Al-Ajlan, and 4 Muhammad bin Ali bin Muhammad Al-Khalifa for investigation.


Fifth: The Control and Anti-Corruption Commission shall complete the investigation procedures with all military and civilians related to this, take the necessary legal measures against them, and raise the results reached.


Sixth: Our matter is communicated to the

competent authorities for approval and implementation.
