The race weekend at the Belgian Spa has been the weakest of Ferrari’s F1 teams so far this season.

Charles Leclerc will start Sunday’s race from the 13th starting box and Sebastian Vettel from next.

Ferrari team manager Mattia Binotto considers the dip to be temporary.

- The problem this weekend has been that we have not figured out how to make the tires work. The car is the same as in previous races, so there are clearly other problems because we are more and more behind than we should, Binotto said, according to Sky Italia quoted by Autosport.

Binotto also explained that the car’s aerodynamics have been regulated according to the possible rainfall. Indeed, these experiments were expected to slightly diminish the time trial results.

The legendary Italian stable has had difficulties earlier this season as well.

Leclerc is fourth in the drivers' World Championship points after six races - far from the top trio Lewis Hamilton – Max Verstappen – Valtteri Bottas. Vettel can only be found in 11th place.

Ferrari is fifth in the Manufacturers' World Cup.

Ferrari drivers have not achieved a single race victory this season.

Leclerc has twice driven to the podium, Vettel’s best finish so far is sixth.
