The ARD (Alliance for the Republic and Democracy) asked its leader to stand as a candidate in the next election during a convention during which she drew up a negative assessment of the 60 years of independence celebrated on August 15 latest. For Mathias Dzon, it is time to change the management software and bring the country out of the abyss.

“  The ARD, after reflection, offered me to be a candidate in the next presidential election to get the country out of chaos. This is the mission entrusted to me (…). My answer ! It is first of all a mark of confidence and then a heavy responsibility. Well ! I took note. We still have time. The moment will come when I will tell them "Ok, I will accept your mission", but with the help of all we will win,  "Mathias Dzon told RFI .

A credible election in 2021 ?

Unsuccessful candidate for the 2009 presidential election, Mathias Dzon boycotted the 2016 presidential election denouncing the organizational conditions. For 2021, he doesn't have too much confidence either.

“  There is nothing that guarantees us a credible election. Remember, we haven't stopped talking about the overhaul of electoral governance. Until today, the power resists. He doesn't want to,  ”he lamented.

The power and the opposition remain divided on the advance polls of the defense and security forces in the next presidential election.
