A Russian military aircraft entered Cadiz, an air defense identification zone on the East Sea, yesterday (28th), the end of the ROK-US joint exercise.

According to military officials, yesterday afternoon, two Russian military aircraft entered Cadiz, east of Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and flew for about 30 minutes before exiting the Japanese air defense identification zone, Jadiz.

The aircraft type was known as the IL-38 marine patrol.

Russia previously entered Cadiz on the 19th, the beginning of the ROK-US joint exercise.

Yesterday's entry is interpreted as an intention to examine the US reaction ahead of the end of the ROK-US joint exercise.

A military official said, "We have carried out normal tactical measures such as warning broadcasts and breakers for Russian military aircraft entering Cadiz," and said, "There was no invasion of airspace by Russian military aircraft."
