In 2019, the woman was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison by the district court for stamping for extremely serious assault. The woman, who is a resident of Kronoberg County, is said to have hired a torpedo via her new partner to abuse her ex-husband.

According to the district court's judgment, it was the woman's new partner who ordered the abuse of the ex-husband, but the court found that it was done in agreement with the woman and that they both agreed that the ex-husband should be inflicted with life-threatening injuries.

Would remove tongue and crush kneecap

The torpedo was to search the man in his home on the pretext that he had been sent by the property owner to repair a water damage. Among other things, he was ordered to remove the ex-husband's tongue and crush his kneecap, which the district court judged to be "extremely serious assault".

The ex-husband managed to avert the beating and got away with minor injuries.

Appealed in the Court of Appeal

The verdict was appealed and the Court of Appeal changed the district court's decision and the woman was acquitted. According to the Court of Appeal, it has not been established that the woman was involved in the decision to employ a torpedo to abuse the ex-husband or to plan the abuse.

The Supreme Court now rejects the ex-husband's claim that the case should be tried in the highest court, which means that the Court of Appeal's judgment stands and the woman remains free from the charges.

The torpedo that was hired has previously been convicted of his involvement in the incident.
