Coronavirus infections continue to grow in Catalonia with 1,350 new positives and nine deaths, while the number of hospitalized patients has also increased to 665 (seven more than yesterday), of which 126 are in the ICU (three less).
The EPG index , which measures the potential growth of the virus, continues to rise and stands at 194.65, five points more than the day before, always in the high-risk range (above 100). The municipality that presents a greater risk of regrowth is Balaguer (Lleida), where the index has doubled compared to yesterday and reached 1,138.2 points.
The reproduction speed of Covid-19 (rt) has grown by one hundredth and has reached 1.13, that is, each infected infects a little more than one person on average.
According to the data updated this Friday by the Department of Health , in the last 24 hours another nine new deaths have been reported, which leaves the number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic at 12,994, both confirmed with PCR tests and suspects.
The number of confirmed cases of Covid since the pandemic began has reached 126,849, with 1,350 new positive diagnoses in the last 24 hours, the second consecutive day with more than a thousand new infected.
Of the total positives, 104,791 (1,272 of them in the last 24 hours) have been confirmed by PCR and the rest by serological and epidemiological tests.
