The return of Friday prayers in the mosques of Egypt after an absence of 5 months

Today, the major mosques in Egypt received worshipers to perform Friday prayers, after the Council of Ministers decided to reopen mosques for Friday prayers, about 5 months after the mosques were closed due to the Corona virus on March 21.

The Minister of Endowments, Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Jumaa, delivered the Friday sermon that was broadcast on Egyptian TV and Radio, under the title Hope is Life, optimistic about the return of Friday prayers.

And Juma had stressed, when announcing the return of Friday prayers in the mosques on the nineteenth of this month, the need to adhere to the procedures of spacing, wearing the muzzle, bringing the personal prayer room, opening the mosques ten minutes before the prayer and closing them immediately after the end of the prayer, and limiting them to the available places according to the implementation of the spacing measures Social only, and the Friday sermon will be within ten minutes.

According to a statement by the ministry, the measures also include "not opening toilets, places of events, or visiting shrines, not allowing any social events such as weddings, funerals or the like, as well as not allowing funeral prayers in the mosque."

He continued, "In the event of any violation, decisive legal measures will be taken against the violator, or the violators, with the Friday not being held in the mosque in which the violation occurs again."

Endowments directorates in all governorates completed sterilization and cleaning work for major mosques and the university, which began Monday through Thursday.

In the wake of the outbreak of the Coronavirus last March, the Egyptian government took decisions to combat the virus, including closing places of worship.
