On August 28, Russian airspace control systems detected three air targets approaching the Russian state border.

The Su-27s taken off from the air defense duty of the Baltic Fleet identified them as the strategic reconnaissance aircraft RC-135 of the US Air Force, the Gulf Stream reconnaissance aircraft of the Swedish Air Force and the reconnaissance aircraft Challenger of the Danish Air Force.

"After the foreign aircraft turned from the state border of Russia, the Russian fighter safely returned to the airfield ... Violation of the state border of Russia by NATO aircraft was not allowed," the press service of the center reported.

The flight of the Su-27 was carried out in accordance with the international rules for the use of airspace.

On August 28, the Su-27 also rose to intercept the US Air Force RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft over the neutral waters of the Black Sea.
