Lyon, in the wake of Memphis Depay, author of a hat-trick, succeeded in his return to Ligue 1 by winning at the expense of Dijon (4-1), Friday in his Groupama stadium, after a match in the 2nd day of the championship largely dominated by OL.

Nine days after being eliminated in the semi-finals of the Champions League by Bayern Munich (3-0), and overall delivered four matches of good quality in August, the Lyonnais were expected at the turn.

Especially since, deprived of Europe this season and with one match per week, they did not hide their ambitions of wanting to fight for the title and regain the Champions League from the fall of 2021.

This victory at least immediately places them at the top of the ranking, tied with Nïmes, Lorient, Nice and Angers (3 points) with one game less.

But despite their declarations of intentions, the start of the meeting was complicated for OL who conceded the opener in the 13th minute, against the course of the game, by the young Aurélien Scheidler, of whom it is the first goal in Ligue 1 for his second start.

Despite a laborious offensive animation, the Lyonnais, once again in a 3-5-2 organization, nevertheless overpowered a much weaker opponent, already 19th in the standings after having already lost at home against Angers on August 22 (1- 0).

And if Memphis Depay was once again in difficulty in the game, like the ball he lost in his camp on the Dijon goal, he was present in the decisive moments to allow his team to stand. put back in the direction of travel before half-time.

He equalized on a penalty awarded for a foul by Ahmad Ngouyamsa on Maxwel Cornet, once again one of the main hosts of OL's game in his left lane (39th).

The central defender Wesley Lautoa then scored against his camp on a cross from the left of the Dutchman (2-1, 45) before he resumed, in the wake in two stages, a center delivered by Karl Toko Ekambi that n 'had been able to resume Moussa Dembélé (3-1, 45 + 1).

In the second half, Memphis could still have scored on a deflected shot by goalkeeper Alfred Gomis (60) before he transformed a penalty awarded, with the help of the video, for a foul by Jonathan Panzo on Léo Dubois (4-1, 65) and come out replaced by the young (17) Rayan Cherki (70).

- Hard blow for Aouar -

And in addition to Cherki, who could have scored on a shot deflected by Gomis (85), coach Rudi Garcia took advantage of the five-change rule to allow Kenny Tete, young Melvin Bard, in contact with Bayern, Jeff Reine -Adelaide or Joachim Andersen to also have playing time in a skilful management of the workforce.

However, the evening had started with a hard blow with the last-minute package of playmaker Houssem Aouar, who tested positive for Covid-19 while being totally asymptomatic as the Rhone club did not fail to point out in its press release.

The young attacking midfielder, replaced against Dijon by Toko Ekambi, has been placed in quarantine and will only resume training in ten or fifteen days according to OL.

Aouar will therefore miss the gathering of the France team for which he was called for the matches against Sweden and Croatia. He is replaced at the Blues by the former Lyonnais Nabil Fekir, currently at Betis Sevilla.
