Faced with 2,000 of his supporters gathered at the Palace of Culture in Treichville, Albert Mabri Toikeusse posed as a unifying candidate and listed the major reforms he intends to undertake if elected.
Deep disagreement
An application that arose out of a deep disagreement that emerged on March 12. That day, while the RHDP [Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace], of which he is vice-president, chooses Amadou Gon Coulibaly as candidate , Albert Mabri Toikeusse publicly expresses reservations about this choice. And deeply annoys the Head of State.
On May 13, the Minister of Higher Education was removed from the government after a reshuffle which saw his right-hand man Albert Flindé win the Ministry of African Integration. At the same time, Adama Bictogo withdraws the vice-presidency of the party. Without some of these executives who remained at the RHDP, Mabri Toikeusse therefore resumed his training, the UDPCI, founded by the putschist general Robert Gueï.
On August 2, Albert Mabri Toikeusse endorsed the dislocation of his party from the RHDP, and his candidacy for the next presidential election. This Friday, August 28, he announced that he had the necessary citizen sponsorships for his candidacy. He will submit his file to the electoral commission on Monday.
