Keep me in this house  " is the headline of the New York Post , with in the background the White House in front of which Donald Trump gave the speech yesterday in which he accepted to be the candidate of the Republican Party for the presidential election of November 3.

An " inflammatory  " speech  , remarks, admiringly, the editorialist of the very Republican newspaper who notes that, precisely, "  the Republicans spent the greater part of the first three evenings of the convention to present softer and nicer aspects of Donald Trump, but it's the president who speaks last, and this Thursday, he was in a fighting mood  . According to the columnist, the president would have slapped his opponent Joe Biden so much that if it had been boxing, the referee would have taken pity and stopped the match.

" A tidal wave of lies "

Perhaps and above all because Donald Trump delivered only low, non-regulatory blows, seems to be saying the vast majority of the American press: "  Trump's speech was a tidal wave of lies and rewriting of history,  ”chokes the Washington Post . In addition, indignant The New York Times , "  some of its assertions had already been discredited in the past  ", for example last week, during their convention, the Democrats never refused to say "  under the authority of God  ”during the pledge of allegiance.

The two newspapers verified many of the arguments made within the president's 70-minute speech. Donald Trump "  has often exaggerated his own actions and slipped on his failures while painting an inaccurate portrait of Joe Biden and the Democrats  ", summarizes the New York Times , which then notes, ruthlessly, "  exaggerated  ", "  misleading  " or "  false  ”Under each statement of the presidential candidate. “  I don't like Democrats or Joe Biden very much,  ” says a USA Today columnist , “  and I certainly don't like leftists or anarchists, so there was a lot in Trump's speech that I wanted love (…), but you can't believe what he says : the slightest affirmation is a lie.  "And to develop with rage:"  On the Covid-19 Trump says ' we have taken up the challenge ', I can give you 180,000 reasons [the number of sick people in the country] which say that is a lie.  "

Problematic sanitary conditions

Hundreds of people at the White House for Trump's speech despite the rules to fight against Covid-19  ", headlines The Hill , suddenly it "  scrambles federal and local health councils on the pandemic  ": wear masks , when it is not possible to stay two meters away from each other, anyway, the newspaper notes, Washington DC prohibits gatherings of more than 50 people.

And "  the overwhelming majority of the guests have not been tested,  " adds the Washington Post . In short, according to the newspaper, the evening of yesterday "  offered Trump a sort of quite acceptable facsimile of the usually loud and rowdy conventions that had been canceled this year due to the pandemic  ", giving "  to the millions of people watching this television shows the image that the president is starting to act normally again, when most Americans cannot.  "

The Boston Globe , for its part, takes a step back to analyze this Republican convention now over, with an article entitled "  Who's in charge ?"  ":"  On these four evenings, the Trump family spoke for 150 minutes, the equivalent of an evening of program  ", notes the newspaper, which estimates that if this Republican convention 2020 showed anything, it is that"  Trump has turned the party into a business largely run by his family.  "

Back to school much discussed in Venezuela

The newspaper 2001announces that the country has reached 43,000 people infected and nearly 360 dead, according to official figures. On Wednesday August 26, President Maduro had confirmed, recalls La Voz , that the start of the school year would be in September with a mixture of distance and face-to-face courses. Today, not everyone seems to have the same opinion: still in La Voz , the president of the Fetramagisterio, a teachers' union, says that 89% of teachers affiliated with this union are not ready to return to the school because “  the schools do not meet the minimum sanitary conditions so that the lessons can be done face-to-face from September.  "

However, underlines in the local newspaper El Periodiquito Fernando Pereira, the founder of the Community Learning Centers, distance education is difficult, because Venezuela is according to him “  completely on the margins, disconnected.  "But for all that,"  the conditions are not met for the face-to-face, because we are in a moment of increase of the cases  ":"  the return in the classes must be decided and evaluated every week ; without exposing the young people  ”, the ideal being“  a semi-face-to-face return.  "

In fact there must be several models of re-entry, it must "  not be the same throughout the country  ", believes Ultimas Nociticas in an editorial: everything from a distance in the most affected municipalities, one or two days of presence of the pupils in the others. Many questions are still being asked today in Venezuela as the start of the school year approaches.

" The final farewell " in Argentina

The final farewell is to coronavirus patients who are living their last moments. Pagina 12 makes its front page on this decision by the city of Buenos Aires to allow a person close to the patient to be present, in the hospital, "  to alleviate fear and loneliness, from both sides  " . The newspaper recalls that since the beginning of the quarantine in the capital there was no protocol allowing it, since yesterday it is therefore possible.

Rules have obviously been set: the people who visit these patients must be "  between 18 and 60 years old, be in good health, not be at risk groups and not pregnant either  ". Health establishments should also have a team of professionals available to support families.
