Paris Saint-Germain's sporting director Leonardo has revealed the team that Lionel Messi will wear his shirt in the event that he leaves Barcelona.

French newspaper L'Équipe reported that Messi's father, Jorge, told Saint-Germain and all the clubs that requested a contract with him that his son had already determined his next destination, which is Manchester City.

The newspaper said that Jorge told Leonardo directly that his son had already decided to join Manchester City.

City was the first candidate to include Messi, due to the huge transfer budget for the team, and in the presence of former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola at the head of City's coaching apparatus.

The deal remains to be completed, with Barcelona agreeing to pay the huge penalty clause estimated at 700 million euros to abandon its captain.

Messi played under Guardiola's coaching in Barcelona from 2008 to 2012, where they won two Champions League titles, in addition to many other titles.
