On August 18, the Ivorian Independent Electoral Commission rendered its decision in the dispute over electoral lists. Laurent Gbagbo and Guillaume Soro, excluded from the lists, had seen the first appeals against them rejected. A radiation confirmed by a court in Abidjan earlier this week for Laurent Gbagbo. Friday July 28, it is Guillaume Soro who received a final disqualification in Korhogo.

Ferkessédougou, the town where Guillaume Soro is usually registered on the electoral roll, does not have a court. It was therefore necessary to bring the case before that of Korhogo, an hour away. After several days of suspense and a long day of waiting, the verdict finally came: appeal refused.

Like Laurent Gbagbo , Guillaume Soro has therefore exhausted all his actions and is therefore prohibited from standing in the presidential election next October, and even from voting.

" This decision is nonsense  "

In its order of August 28, the court ruled that the request was unfounded and inadmissible, since the former President of the National Assembly technically lost his civil rights following his sentence to 20 years in prison for concealing embezzled public funds.

For now, his lawyers refuse this rejection and assure that they will go "  to the end  ". “  You have to stay consistent, this decision is rubbish  ,” said one of them. An application to the IEC, the Independent Electoral Commission, is therefore expected by Monday, the deadline.

Problem: beyond this radiation which should automatically eliminate it, the declared candidate does not have a complete file. Indeed, his party has denounced for several days the refusal of the tax administration to issue him one of the documents necessary for his registration.
