The Ministry of Education stated that the "hybrid education" system has five main characteristics over other education systems, the most prominent of which is that it reduces education expenditures compared to direct education, while saving teacher effort and time, in addition to preparing students for future jobs by taking into account individual differences. Among them, noting that this system is the first option for the ministry according to future scenarios for the Emirati school.

This came during the presentation made by the Assistant Undersecretary for the School Operations Sector, Fawzia Hassan Gharib, during the Sixth Gulf Forum, which was recently organized by the Ministry.

And the concept of "hybrid education", which the ministry decided to implement at a rate of 70% direct education and 30% virtual (distance) education, is defined as a type of education that seeks to achieve the sustainability of education and is in harmony with the country's centenary 2071 and the future vision of the Ministry, and provides educational and training opportunities and learning platforms based on The learner himself, to meet his educational needs without being restricted to a specific place and time.

She emphasized that hybrid education has five advantages: the first provides the opportunity for everyone to sustainable education, by overcoming the temporal and geographical obstacle, with the expansion of the learning area to include the world, and not being limited to the classroom, the second is to reduce education expenditures compared to direct education, the third provides effort and time for the teacher, and the fourth Providing flexibility in learning time and time to join his programs, and allows the student to learn at the same time that his colleagues learn without being late for them, and the fifth qualifies students for future jobs by taking into account individual differences between them, so that each learner can walk in learning according to his needs and abilities.

Gharib stated that hybrid education aims to support students' performance in the ability to employ educational technology, reduce educational expenses, achieve democracy in education and self-learning, increase direct and indirect interaction with teachers and with educational content and students, provide flexibility for learners and develop the student’s knowledge and performance side.

She pointed out that “hybrid education” requires an infrastructure and technology environment that provides the needs of the learner with different learning resources, the availability of realistic classes (the school classroom), in addition to smart classes, the availability of curricula, tools and methods that are used in simulation experiments, as well as the active participation of Emirati school students. In the educational process, electronic communication or face-to-face as well as smart classes, availability of software for managing smart learning, and availability of curricula and tools that are used in simulation experiments.

She pointed out that hybrid education requires teachers of the Emirati school to deal effectively with educational technology, direct interaction with learners, design of tests and printed and electronic assessment tools, and the ability to integrate between traditional and smart education.
