During the summer, about 20 downhill and enduro bikes were stolen in Åre. These are expensive bicycles that cost between SEK 20,000 and 100,000 each.

- The total sum is now up to over one million kronor and the thefts continue, says Andreas Zehlander.

He now urges those who have bicycles like this to take them in at night.

- It is not enough to have them chained in the house, they are still stolen, he says.

It is both residents and tourists who have been affected.

The police now want the bicycle owners to be helped to warn each other and to contact the police if they have tips.

- We are putting together puzzles now to get hold of the thieves, says Andreas Zehlander to SVT.
