The incident occurred on Storgatan in Nässjö at half past nine on Thursday morning.
When the cyclist was hit by the motorist, the man became aggressive and attacked the driver.
- He cut to him, says Thomas Agnevik, the police's press spokesperson.
A passing witness, who saw the incident, tried to avert the quarrel.
- Then he cuts for him too.
The aggressively hit man was taken to hospital for check-up. The witness was also taken to hospital.
The cyclist is now suspected of two cases of assault. The legal aftermath for the motorist is still unclear.
