He pointed out that the municipality has launched a project to design a roadmap for the application of building information modeling, to develop unified standards, and to devise mechanisms that help improve and accelerate the issuance of construction and building licenses, through automatic checking of building requirements regulations and an integrated link between building information and geographic information systems.
The questionnaire that was prepared as part of the project showed that about 70% of consultants and contractors in Dubai use Building Information Modeling in their projects, that 40% use it widely and advanced, and that 72% of engineering companies that do not currently apply this technology plan to use it during The next five years.
