main building of the National Assembly was completely closed when A, a photojournalist who had been in the National Assembly and covered the Democratic Party leadership meeting, was confirmed.

After internal quarantine was completed, an epidemiological investigation by the health authorities followed.

In the case of the meeting room of the Democratic Party's representative, which was the site of the interview, the leadership of the party, such as Lee Hae-chan Lee, who had a distance from the confirmed patient, and Tae-yeon Kim, who were sitting at a semicircular table, were classified as active monitors, not close contacts.

However, since he is a politician who has a lot of face-to-face contact, he was preemptively diagnosed and tested negative.

On the 31st, we plan to undergo a retest.

Some lawmakers who were closer to the confirmed case were classified as close contacts and went into self-isolation for two weeks.

Due to the closure of the National Assembly, the settlement of accounts of several standing committees that were originally planned were canceled.

Party events were also replaced or postponed by video conferences.

While the schedule for the extraordinary assembly in August was suspended in this way, the National Assembly decided to close the main building and the Assembly Hall by tomorrow and Saturday.

Currently, it is a policy to resume the agenda from next Monday, but if unexpected variables such as the occurrence of additional confirmed cases occur, the regular National Assembly, which begins on the first of the following month, may also be disrupted.
