The Sharjah Public Works Department revealed the completion of the Souq Al Maleh project on Al Hosn Island at a cost of 3.5 million dirhams on an area of one thousand square meters, which includes 27 stores, salting areas and a service room.

He added that the selection of the market site was based on a clear-cut study and strategy with strategic partners, which took into account in its entirety the development of a comprehensive picture that takes into account the requirements of the population and meets their needs, and achieves for them the fun of comprehensive shopping, and the market is located in a vital location among a chain of markets, to be complementary to it, including the fish market , The vegetable market, the fishermen's association, and the butchery.
Al-Suwaidi confirmed that the design of the project came after a thorough study of the market’s requirements and requirements, in addition to conducting a survey of fishermen’s opinion. He pointed out that the Maleh market will be an important tributary to producers and fishermen, in addition to its role in reviving commercial activity within the city.
