His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council, presided over the council’s meeting, which was held at the Ministry’s General Office in Abu Dhabi.

The council reviewed developments in preparing the private education law in the country, which regulates the private school education sector.

The law aims to create a flexible legislative environment to stimulate the advancement of the quality of private education to international levels, to graduate generations bearing the flag of the future in the country, and to provide an attractive environment for investment in education that works to strengthen and build a knowledge economy in the country.

They also reviewed the most important axes that have been included in the law, including licensing mechanisms, accreditation of curricula, private school obligations, and the professional aspects that workers in the private education sector must adhere to in order to achieve advanced quality of education while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism.

The regulations, controls and standards for practicing the profession included in the law were reviewed to ensure the safety of the educational process.

The Education and Human Resources Council reviewed a study on stimulating knowledge entrepreneurship in the country, which was conducted by a committee consisting of the Office of the Minister of State for Advanced Technology, the Ministry of Economy, the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi and Dubai Economy, where the most important challenges facing the knowledge entrepreneurship sector were reviewed.

The study proposed methodologies and solutions for expanding the scope of the knowledge-based economy, mechanisms for attracting and developing national cadres in this field, and programs and initiatives that would enhance the impact of science on the state's economy, and the study also showed that entrepreneurship activities in the country are on the rise, especially in the early stages.

The study concluded by specifying several solutions, including adopting a strategic methodology to identify economic sectors that are in line with national priorities, and designing policies that focus on promoting knowledge entrepreneurship and motivating individuals to enter this field.

During the meeting, the head of the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi, Sarah Awad Issa Muslim, reviewed the policies and guidelines for reopening private schools, which were prepared in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, stressing that student safety and health are the most important priorities for reopening schools.
