The economic stimulus plan, which was initially to be unveiled last Tuesday, will be presented on Thursday, September 3, Prime Minister Jean Castex said on Wednesday, who fears that the economic and social crisis "is more dangerous" than health.

"To govern is to know how to adapt to circumstances", explained the head of government on France Inter, minimizing the postponement "of a week" of the presentation of the 100 billion euro plan to revive growth after the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic.

"I take this opportunity to tell you that it will be officially announced on Thursday, September 3," he added, assuring that it was "completed" and that the revaluation of the back-to-school allowance of 100 euros s 'is made "in anticipation" of this presentation.

"The worst of all is that we are sinking because we do not resume the activity in an economic and social crisis which would be - the French feel it well - much more dangerous than the health crisis", underlined Mr. Castex.

The Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, confirmed Monday the government's forecast of a contraction in gross domestic product (GDP) of 11% this year, while INSEE expects -9%.
