A collective of about sixty lawyers led by the president of the bar, was formed on Monday to defend the Mauritanian state with a view to recovering public property embezzled during the decade in power of former Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz between 2008 and 2019. The collective includes practically all the tenors of the Nouakchott bar, including several former chairmen used to major trials such as Yaghoub Diallo and Diabira Marouffa. The Mauritanian state appealed to their experience in the perspective of a trial for corruption. The current president of the bar association coordinates the work of his colleagues.

Master Brahim Ebety already points to the main objective of the defense of the Mauritanian state. “  The primary objective is that all property that has been looted, squandered, be returned to the State. This is the main objective. And we will work in this direction.  "

The president of the bar asserts that all those named in the report resulting from the parliamentary committee's investigation are required to answer questions from investigators, including former Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, who is still under the control of the judiciary , according to Master Brahim Ebety. “  This former President of the Republic can always be arrested at any time, questioned, confronted.  "

The husband of the eldest daughter of former President Aziz, was again questioned Tuesday by the economic crime police on his alleged involvement in cases of embezzlement of public property.
