Never has a secretary of state in office participated in a convention
The United States recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the Hebrew state in 2017. A decision criticized by much of the international community, but which should help attract an electorate that matters and who traditionally votes for the Democratic Party .
President Trump has ensured the safety of America - and SECURED our many FREEDOMS, which is the cornerstone of this great nation.
I look forward to sharing with you how the President has delivered on that mission TONIGHT!
The recording of Mike Pompeo's speech is controversial in the United States because, in expert memory, a sitting Secretary of State has never actively participated in a convention, whether Democrat or Republican. And to avoid any legal hassle, Mike Pompeo, for the occasion, had to surround himself with an audience of experts to be sure he was not breaking the law.
During this speech, which will therefore be broadcast, the Secretary of State is also expected to return to the historic normalization agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, facilitated by the United States. One of the only foreign policy successes of Donald Trump, who is now seeking a second term.
