A 43-year-old man was taken into custody on Monday as part of the investigation into the homicide of a man assaulted with a screwdriver Thursday evening in Vitry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne), a judicial source said on Tuesday.

The suspect presented himself to the police on Monday afternoon and was taken into custody, a judicial source said.

An altercation between the two men

Thursday, around 8 p.m., an altercation broke out between the two men. “The victim was in his car when a man asked him to get out. They fought and he received a stab hit in the chest. He tried to drive 150 meters, but he suffered from discomfort following the attack, ”said a source close to the investigation.

In cardio-respiratory arrest when help arrived, the 40-year-old victim died shortly after the assault.
