Lindelöf is currently on holiday in his hometown Västerås. There he received an unexpected training session when he noticed an older woman's cry for help and put the bag thief on a bicycle.
- He was incredible. He ran over footbridges and walls, the woman tells Aftonbladet.
- It seemed that he had fantastic strength and form.
The 26-year-old midfielder was able to keep the 30-year-old bag thief until the police arrived, something that is confirmed by Nilsson Lindelöf's wife in her blog:
“A nice lady got rid of her purse and we helped. My God, what a strange, stressful and difficult situation. The lady got her bag back and we had to leave our information ", writes Maja Nilsson Lindelöf.
The older woman never got, in connection with the event, any opportunity to thank the football star for the effort.
- But I would like to get hold of Victor and thank you. I want to offer lunch, she tells Aftonbladet.
The bag thief is suspected of aggravated theft and minor drug offenses, writes Aftonbladet.
The incident has been brought to the attention of several British newspapers, The Times and the tabloids Daily Mail and Mirror, as well as by the news agency Reuters.
