Chinanews.com, August 25. According to the official WeChat news of the Chinese Embassy in India, on August 25, an Indian media published an article by Wu Zhaoxie, the head of the foreign affairs department of the Democratic Progressive Party of Taiwan, blatantly posting his "Taiwan independence" remarks. Advocating the so-called "Taiwan joins the United Nations and the World Health Organization." Counselor Ji Rong, the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India, issued a solemn statement on this, criticizing his wrong argument and clarifying China's principled position.

Ji Rong pointed out that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China. This is a fact that no one or any power can change. In 1945, the Chinese people, together with the people of other countries in the world, won the great victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and Taiwan was recovered and returned to the embrace of the motherland. A series of international law documents including the "Cairo Declaration" and "Potsdam Proclamation" have clearly and unmistakably confirmed China's sovereignty over Taiwan. Since 1949, although the two sides of the strait have not yet been completely reunified, China’s sovereignty and territory have never been divided, and the fact that the mainland and Taiwan belong to the same China has never changed.

Ji Rong made it clear that the one-China principle is the universal consensus and recognized international norms of the international community, including India. In October 1971, the 26th United Nations General Assembly passed Resolution 2758, recognizing the People’s Republic of China as the sole legal government representing the entire Chinese people. This completely resolved the issue of China’s representation in the United Nations politically, legally, and procedurally, and fully demonstrated the one-China principle upheld by the United Nations. There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is a part of China, and there is no question of Taiwan joining the United Nations. Taiwan's participation in international organization activities, including WHO activities, must be handled in accordance with the one-China principle. The United Nations has repeatedly reiterated that it will insist on handling the Taiwan issue in accordance with General Assembly Resolution 2758.

Ji Rong stated that the Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party authorities and the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces concocted various excuses to politicize the epidemic prevention issue in an attempt to use the epidemic to take advantage of the fire and challenge the one-China principle internationally. We have stated our solemn position on this many times. We have firm will, full confidence, and sufficient ability to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity. We will never tolerate any secession of the country or any external force to interfere in China's internal affairs.

Ji Rong said that we urge the relevant Indian media to take a correct stand on issues involving China's sovereignty and territorial integrity and other major core interests, abide by the one-China principle, and refrain from providing a platform for "Taiwan independence" forces to speak out and avoid sending false signals.
