25 August 2020 Bali has second thoughts and will not accept foreign tourists. A ban that will last until the end of 2020. The authorities of the Indonesian island, a popular tourist destination, had announced the return of foreigners starting in September. A revised plan for fears of Covid-19 in Indonesia.

To date, 4,576 cases and 52 deaths have been recorded.

A decision that weighs on the economy of the country which has its main voice in tourism. Every year millions of foreigners fly to Bali attracted by the deserted beaches and Hindu temples.

The number, however, has dropped dramatically since Indonesia closed borders to non-residents as many other countries struggling with the pandemic have done.

Since the end of July the island has turned to domestic visitors to help with tourism, reopening beaches, temples and other landmarks for local travelers. But many restaurateurs and hotels are struggling to leave.
